Terms of Service

Updated September 8, 2026. These terms cover the OpenASMR app and website. By using the service you agree to these terms and the privacy policy.

1. What the service does

OpenASMR generates personalized ASMR for relaxation and entertainment using AI-generated scripts and on-device voice processing. It is not a medical device or treatment. Generated content can be inaccurate or repetitive; voice similarity, sleep outcomes, uninterrupted playback and performance are not guaranteed. Release availability and device support depend on the version offered in the App Store.

2. Subscriptions and billing

Free, Pro and Max availability and features are shown in the app before purchase. Any USD prices on the website are illustrative. Apple's purchase sheet provides the applicable localized price and billing period. Pro and Max monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation; renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the applicable renewal price.

Manage or cancel in Apple subscription settings. Cancellation stops future renewals and ordinarily preserves access until the paid period expires. Use Restore Purchases in the app when appropriate. Apple handles refund requests, subject to its policies and applicable consumer law. Deleting an OpenASMR account does not cancel Apple billing. RevenueCat helps verify entitlements; it is not a replacement for Apple's purchase terms.

3. Voice consent and rights

Use your own voice or a recording for which you have explicit permission from the voice owner and all necessary legal rights. Possessing a recording alone does not establish consent. You must confirm permission before adding a voice. Rights involving deceased people or copyrighted recordings can vary by jurisdiction; do not assume an exception. Synthetic audio must not be passed off as a real person's actual speech.

4. Acceptable use and content

Do not use the service for impersonation, harassment, fraud, exploitation, illegal activity or violations of another person's rights. Do not attempt to bypass authentication, subscription limits or content safeguards. Mature scenarios require an active Max account, adult age verification and explicit opt-in; they are not available through offline fallback. Scenarios involving minors, coercion or exploitation are prohibited. Custom scenario text is not permission to override those boundaries. We may refuse requests or restrict accounts that misuse the service. App Store submission remains on hold for content-policy and safety resolution; these terms do not imply Apple approval.

5. Intellectual property

You retain any rights you have in recordings and text you provide. AI outputs may not be unique or eligible for copyright protection; use does not confer ownership of someone else's voice or intellectual property. OpenASMR and its providers retain their respective rights in the software and models. Third-party open-source and model licenses continue to apply; these terms do not remove rights granted by those licenses.

The current OmniVoice-based release is not cleared for commercial distribution. Its upstream model card distinguishes Apache-2.0 code from CC-BY-NC pretrained models. Rights for an acquired checkpoint must be checked against its provenance and applicable license; a later card does not establish retrospective revocation of earlier rights. No commercial or redistribution rights are assumed for model-derived resources merely because they can be downloaded. Commercial launch remains on hold pending verified rights or a deliberately selected, compatible commercially licensed replacement.

6. Accounts and deletion

Keep your credentials private and use accurate account information. Request deletion through the account portal or privacy@openasmr.ai. The pre-release app also implements native deletion initiation; its device UI and real-provider account/purchase behavior still require verification before launch. Permanent deletion removes active account records, subject to the retention details in our privacy policy. Remove local voices and saved sessions separately if needed. Account suspension or deletion does not automatically cancel a subscription with Apple.

7. Availability and liability

The service is provided as available. Models, network access, available device memory and operating-system behavior may limit functionality. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim implied warranties and liability for indirect losses. Nothing here excludes non-waivable consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes and contact

We may update the service and these terms. Material changes will be explained through appropriate notices. Contact legal@openasmr.ai with questions or concerns.
