Privacy Policy

OpenASMR ("we," "us," "our") operates the OpenASMR mobile application and the website at openasmr.ai. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. What We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

  • Account data — email address, hashed password, subscription tier, age verification date, and NSFW preference flag.
  • Minimal analytics — session count, preset popularity (which categories are used), and crash reports. These are aggregated and anonymous.
  • Subscription data — managed by RevenueCat (see Section 6).

We do not collect voice data, audio recordings, voice embeddings, script content, or any biometric information.

2. Voice Data

Voice cloning runs entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. Voice recordings, voice embeddings, and synthesized audio are stored exclusively in the app sandbox on your iPhone. This data is:

  • Never transmitted to any server — ours or anyone else's.
  • Never used for model training or improvement.
  • Never backed up to our servers.
  • Fully under your control — delete a voice and it is gone.

3. Script Generation

ASMR scripts are generated server-side by a language model. When you request a session, the server receives only:

  • The preset type (e.g., "Sleep," "Personal Attention")
  • The requested word count
  • Your subscriber ID (for rate limiting and tier verification)

The server does not store generated scripts after delivery. Script generation is stateless — we retain no record of what was generated or when.

4. Account Data

When you create an account, we store:

  • Email address — for authentication and account recovery.
  • Hashed password — we never store your password in plain text.
  • Subscription status — your current tier (Free, Pro, or Max).
  • Age verification date — the date you verified your age, if applicable. We do not store your date of birth.
  • NSFW preference flag — whether you have enabled intimate content.

5. RevenueCat

Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. When you subscribe, RevenueCat processes your subscription data according to their privacy policy. We receive subscription status information (tier and expiration) but not your payment details.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • RevenueCat — subscription management.
  • Apple — App Store distribution and in-app purchase processing.

We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, social media trackers, or any other third-party data collection services. There are no ads in OpenASMR.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data — retained until you delete your account.
  • Voice data — controlled entirely by you on your device. We have no access to it.
  • Scripts — not retained. Generated and delivered, then discarded.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access your data — view your account information at openasmr.ai/account.
  • Delete your data — delete your account and all server-side data at openasmr.ai/account. Voice data is already device-local and under your control.
  • Port your data — request an export of your account data by contacting us.
  • Opt out of data sales — we do not sell any personal data to third parties. Ever.

For GDPR purposes, OpenASMR is the data controller for account data. Voice data never reaches our servers, so we are not a controller or processor for that data.

For CCPA purposes, we do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Children

OpenASMR is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Age verification is required to access intimate content. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will delete their account promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
